Pen Pal Program
Your child has been learning about Social Promise and our work in Uganda through monthly emails and our children’s newsletter. (If you don’t receive our children’s newsletter, click here to subscribe.)
You can now offer your child an opportunity to better understand children living in another part of the world.
The Pen Pal Program is a one-to-one pairing program where Social Promise matches your child to another student attending St. Jude Primary School. This allows the kids to make connections from a distance and participate in cultural exchanges.
By communicating regularly, students in Uganda will be able to experience the American culture first-hand and practice their English. Your child will have the opportunity to understand another culture better. Above all, this program is about making new friends and having fun!
Participants should be committed to communicating with their pen pal at least once every month. There will be monthly themes and prompts to help guide conversation.
Even our youngest learners can be involved- drawings are a great way to communicate!
