In honor of Patient Safety Day, I want to share a story that highlights the extraordinary dedication and care provided by the staff at Lacor Hospital. At Lacor, the well-being and safety of patients are not just priorities; they are the essence of the hospital's mission.

At Lacor Hospital, blood is in high demand. “We are facing a severe shortage. The supply we get from the regional blood bank is not even a quarter of what we use within the hospital,” says Richard Ojara, a Laboratory Technician at the Lacor.

Lacor Hospital provides free cancer treatment to children and at subsidized rates to all other patients.

There are 554 beds at Lacor Hospital and its three peripheral health centers. Each of these beds tells a story.

It was inevitable. Uganda resisted an outbreak as long as possible, having a significantly lower number of positive cases than neighboring countries. But COVID-19 has crossed the gates of Lacor Hospital despite the protective measures that have been in place since last February.
